X:mmmm-nnnn represents a range of memory in hexadecimal to be excluded from the EMM386.SYS page frame or other mappable pages. This parameter is necessary only when there is a conflict with your expansion option board. You can use more than one X: parameter to exclude more than one range of memory. Mx indicates the address of the EMM386.SYS page frame. Do not include this parameter unless you want to force EMM386.SYS to use a particular address.
