Main memory See Base memory. Main unit The part of the computer that houses the central processing unit, random access memory, disk drives, and other supporting circuitry. Megabyte (MB) A unit used to measure storage space in a computer's memory or on a disk. One megabyte equals 1,048,576 bytes.
