Changing Directories You can use any directory as your current or working directory. To change to a different directory, type CHDIR (or CD) followed by the pathname of the directory you want to use. For example, to change from any directory to the directory LEDGER (which is a subdirectory of the root directory), type the following and press Enter: CD \LEDGER The backslash identifies the LEDGER directory as a subdirectory of the root directory. Once you are working within a directory, you can access any of the files it contains without typing the full pathname. To change to a subdirectory within the current directory, you do not need to type the backslash. Changing Directories
You can use any directory as your current or working directory.
To change to a different directory, type
CHDIR
(or
CD)
followed by the pathname of the directory you want to use.
For example, to change from any directory to the directory
LEDGER (which is a subdirectory of the root directory), type
the following and press
Enter:
CD \LEDGER
The backslash identifies the LEDGER directory as a
subdirectory of the root directory. Once you are working within
a directory, you can access any of the files it contains without
