3 Digital-sending tasks This section provides instructions for how to carry out common digital-sending tasks. Loading documents You can use either the automatic document feeder (ADF) or the scanner glass to load documents for digital sending. Use the following instructions to load documents. Loading documents in the ADF Using the ADF, you can scan up to 50 pages at a time (depending on the thickness of the pages). To load the ADF 1. Load the document face-up into the ADF. See Media specifications for paper size specifications. 2. Adjust the paper guides to fit the document size. 3. If you are scanning legal-size documents, pull out the paper support for the output bin to accommodate the larger paper size. NOTE 4. Make any image modifications, and select any scan settings (see the following sections for more information). Press START. If you are scanning a double-sided document, be sure to select the double-sided option in the Original Settings screen before starting so that the ADF duplexer automatically scans both sides of the document. This section provides instructions for how to carry out common digital-sending tasks.
Loading documents
You can use either the automatic document feeder (ADF) or the scanner glass to load
documents for digital sending. Use the following instructions to load documents.
Loading documents in the ADF
Using the ADF, you can scan up to 50 pages at a time (depending on the thickness of the
pages).
To load the ADF
1.
Load the document
face-up
into the ADF. See
Media
specifications
for paper size
specifications.
2.
Adjust the paper guides to fit the document size.
3.
If you are scanning legal-size documents, pull out the paper support for the output bin to
accommodate the larger paper size.
4.
Make any image modifications, and select any scan settings (see the following sections
for more information). Press
