When you touch the FOLDER option on the control-panel display, the following screen appears. NOTE NOTE 1 File Name button 2 Folder Settings button 3 Other button 4 Folders list Follow these instructions to scan a document and send it to a folder. 1. Place the document face-up in the ADF or face-down on the scanner glass. 2. On the control-panel display touch FOLDER. 3. Any folders that the administrator has specified are listed in the Folders list. Touch the check box to select an existing path. To specify a new folder, touch the Other button. Type the path for the folder by using the keyboard interface that appears. Touch OK on the keyboard screen to save the new path. The software verifies that a valid path name has been specified. Specifying a folder does not add it to the list permanently. See the system administrator if you want to add a new folder destination to the default list. 4. Specify a file name by touching the File Name button. The File Name interface provides a keyboard for typing the file name. Specifying a file name is optional. If you do not specify one, the software assigns a unique file name to the file when it is saved. 5. When you are ready to send, touch Start to begin scanning the document. Status messages show the progress of the send operation. Changing the settings Before you send to a folder, you can change the following settings by touching the Folder Settings button: ● Scan Preferences: Select black and white or color. ● File Type: Select .PDF, .TIFF, .MTIFF, or .JPG. If the document has multiple pages, the .PDF and .MTIFF formats produce one file containing all of the pages. The .TIFF and .JPEG formats produce a single file for each scanned page. Follow these instructions to scan a document and send it to a folder.
1.
