System board NOTE: The system board spare part kit includes replacement thermal material. Description Spare part number Equipped with an Intel Celeron 2955U 1.40-GHz processor (2.0-MB L3 cache, 15 W), 4.0-GB of 740160-001 system memory, and a graphics subsystem with UMA memory Equipped with an Intel Celeron 2955U 1.40-GHz processor (2.0-MB L3 cache, 15 W), 2.0-GB of 742097-001 system memory, and a graphics subsystem with UMA memory Before removing the system board, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the keyboard/top cover (see Keyboard/top cover on page 23), and then remove the following components: a. Speakers (see Speakers on page 26) b. Battery (see Battery on page 28) c. WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 32) d. Hall sensor board (see Hall sensor board on page 39) NOTE: When replacing the system board, be sure that the heat sink (see Heat sink on page 54) and the solid-state drive (see Solid-state drive on page 56) are removed from the defective system board and installed on the replacement system board. 52 Chapter 4 Removal and replacement procedures preliminary requirements
