Memory shield Description Memory shield Spare part number L19789-001 IMPORTANT: The memory is integrated into the system board and is not removable or upgradeable. Before removing the memory shield, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 25). 5. Disconnect the battery (see Battery on page 27). Remove the memory shield: 1. Lift the tape from the top of the shield (1). 2. Squeeze the shield to disengage it from clips on system board (2), and the remove the shield (3). Reverse this procedure to install the memory shield.
