If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 25). 5. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 27). 6. Remove the bottom speaker (see Bottom speakers on page 38). Remove the card reader board: 1. Remove the Phillips broad head M2.0×2.0 screw (1) that secures the board to the computer. 2. Rotate the board upside down to access the connector underneath (2). 3. Disconnect the cable from the ZIF connector on the bottom of the board (3). Reverse this procedure to install the card reader board. Component replacement procedures 39
