Fingerprint reader module Description Fingerprint reader module Spare part number L23655-001 Before removing the fingerprint reader module, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 25). 5. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 27). 6. Remove the system board (see System board on page 46). Remove the fingerprint reader module: 1. Remove the Phillips M2.0×3.0 screw (1) that secures the fingerprint reader bracket to the computer. 2. Lift the bracket off the fingerprint reader (2). 3. From the outside of the chassis, push the fingerprint reader module into the chassis to disengage it (3). 4. Remove the fingerprint reader module from the computer (4). Before removing the
fingerprint
reader module, follow these steps:
1.
Turn
off
the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is
off
or in Hibernation, turn

2.

then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4.

5.

6.
Remove the system board (see

).
Remove the
fingerprint
reader module:
1.
Remove the Phillips M2.0×3.0 screw
(1)
that secures the
fingerprint
reader bracket to the computer.
2.
Lift the bracket
off
the
fingerprint
reader
(2)
.
3.
From the outside of the chassis, push the
fingerprint
reader module into the chassis to disengage it
(3)
.
4.
Remove the
fingerprint
reader module from the computer
(4)
.
Reverse this procedure to install the
fingerprint
reader module.
