5 Removal and Replacement Procedures This chapter provides removal and replacement procedures. There are 31 different Torx T8 and Phillips screws and screwlocks, in 6 different sizes, that must be removed when servicing the notebook. Make special note of the size and location of each screw during removal and replacement. Refer to Appendix C, "Screw Listing," for detailed information on screw sizes, locations, and usage. 5.1 Serial Number Report the notebook serial number to Compaq when requesting information or ordering spare parts. Removal and Replacement
Procedures
This chapter provides removal and replacement procedures.
There are 31 different Torx T8 and Phillips screws and
screwlocks, in 6 different sizes, that must be removed when
servicing the notebook. Make special note of the size and location
of each screw during removal and replacement.
Refer to Appendix C, “Screw Listing,” for detailed information
on screw sizes, locations, and usage.
5.1 Serial Number
Report the notebook serial number to Compaq when requesting
information or ordering spare parts. The serial number is located
on the bottom of the notebook (Figure 5-1).
