Component replacement procedures NOTE: Details about your computer, including model, serial number, product key, and length of warranty, are on the service tag at the bottom of your computer. See Labels on page 18 for details. NOTE: HP continually improves and changes product parts. For complete and current information on supported parts for your computer, go to http://partsurfer.hp.com, select your country or region, and then follow the on-screen instructions. There are as many as 61 screws that must be removed, replaced, and/or loosened when servicing the parts described in this chapter. Make special note of each screw size and location during removal and replacement. Base enclosure Description Twinkle Black for Shadow Mesh finish Twinkle Black for Hybrid Green finish Spare part number 858965-001 905114-001 Before disassembling the computer, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. Remove the base enclosure: 1.
