Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the base enclosure (see Base enclosure on page 32). 5. Disconnect the battery (see Battery on page 34). Remove the heat sink for hybrid graphics memory: 1. Remove the 6 Phillips M2.0 screws (1) securing the heat sink. 2. Carefully lift the heat sink (2) to remove it from the system board. Component replacement procedures 49

securing the heat sink.

Carefully lift the heat sink

to remove it from the system board.
