Shut down the computer. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 31). 5. Remove the optical drive (see DVD±RW Double-Layer SuperMulti Drive on page 32). 6. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 34). Remove the hard drive: 1. Release the hard drive connector cable from the ZIF (zero insertion force) connector (1) on the system board. 2. Tilt the hard drive up at an angle (2). Component replacement procedures 37
