3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 31), and then remove the following components: a. Optical drive (see DVD±RW Double-Layer SuperMulti Drive on page 32). b. Bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 34). c. WLAN module(see WLAN module on page 40). d. Memory (see Memory module on page 39). e. Fan (see Fan on page 42). Remove the system board: 1. Release the ZIF connector (1) to which the keyboard cable is attached, and then disconnect the keyboard cable from the system board. 2. Release the ZIF connector (2) to which the keyboard backlight cable is attached, and then disconnect the keyboard backlight cable from the system board (select models only). 3. Release the ZIF connector (3) to which the TouchPad cable is attached, and then disconnect the TouchPad cable from the system board. 4. Release the ZIF connector (4) to which the display panel cable is attached, and then disconnect the display panel cable from the system board. 5. Disconnect the ambient sensor light cable (5) (select models only). 6. Release the ZIF connector (6) to which the hard drive connector cable is attached, and then disconnect the hard drive connector cable from the system board. 7. Disconnect the power connector cable (7). 8. Disconnect the speaker cable (8). Component replacement procedures 45

Remove the system board:
1.
Release the ZIF connector
(1)
to which the keyboard cable is attached, and then disconnect the
keyboard cable from the system board.
2.
Release the ZIF connector
(2)
to which the keyboard backlight cable is attached, and then disconnect
the keyboard backlight cable from the system board (select models only).
3.
Release the ZIF connector
(3)
to which the TouchPad cable is attached, and then disconnect the
TouchPad cable from the system board.
4.
Release the ZIF connector
(4)
to which the display panel cable is attached, and then disconnect the
display panel cable from the system board.
5.
Disconnect the ambient sensor light cable
(5)
(select models only).
6.
Release the ZIF connector
(6)
to which the hard drive connector cable is attached, and then disconnect
the hard drive connector cable from the system board.
7.
Disconnect the power connector cable
