Heat sink Description Heat sink (includes replacement thermal material) Spare part number 933470-001 Before removing the heat sink, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the optical drive (see Optical drive on page 24), and then remove the following components: a. Bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 25) b. Battery (see Battery on page 27) c. Fan (see Fan on page 36) d. System board (see System board on page 37) Remove the heat sink: 1. Remove the six Phillips PM2.0×4.2 screws (1) that secure the heat sink to the system board. 2. Remove the heat sink (2). 40 Chapter 5 Removal and replacement procedures
