Fan, Release the fan cable

Fan Description Fan (includes cable) Spare part number 725620-001 Before removing the fan, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 30). 5. Remove the keyboard (see Keyboard on page 31). 6. Remove the top cover (see Top cover on page 33). Remove the fan: 1. Turn the system board upside down with the front toward you. 2. Disconnect the fan cable (1) from the system board. 3. Release the fan cable (2) from beneath heat sink pipe. 4. Remove the Phillips PM2.5×5.6 screw (3) that secures the fan to the system board. 5. Before removing the fan, follow these steps:

Remove the fan:
1.
Turn the system board upside down with the front toward you.
2.
Disconnect the fan cable

from the system board.
3.
Release the fan cable
(2)
from beneath heat sink pipe.
4.
Remove the Phillips PM2.5×5.6 screw
(3)
that secures the fan to the system board.
5.
Release the fan
(4)
by lifting the rear edge of the fan.
