Keyboard plate Description Keyboard plate Spare part number 766605-001 Before removing the keyboard plate, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is off or in Hibernation, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the tablet by unplugging the power cord from the tablet. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the tablet. 4. Disconnect the tablet from the keyboard base. 5. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 64). 6. Remove the keyboard battery (see Keyboard battery on page 65). Remove the keyboard plate: 1. Remove the 17 Philllips PM1.9×2.4 screws that secure the keyboard plate to the top cover in the locations indicated in the following illustration. 2. Remove the following screws that secure the keyboard plate to the top cover: (1) Two Philllips PM2.4×9.8 screws (2) One Philllips PM2.4×5.8 screws (3) Two Philllips PM1.9×5.4 screws Keyboard base replacement procedures 67

Before removing the keyboard plate, follow these steps:
1.
Turn off the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is off or in Hibernation, turn the tablet on, and
then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the tablet by unplugging the power cord from the tablet.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the tablet.
4.
Disconnect the tablet from the keyboard base.
5.
Remove the bottom cover (see

on page
64
).
6.
Remove the keyboard battery (see
Keyboard battery
on page
65
).
Remove the keyboard plate:
1.
Remove the 17 Philllips PM1.9×2.4 screws that secure the keyboard plate to the top cover in the
locations indicated in the following illustration.
2.
Remove the following screws that secure the keyboard plate to the top cover:

Two Philllips PM2.4×9.8 screws
(2)
One Philllips PM2.4×5.8 screws
(3)
Two Philllips PM1.9×5.4 screws
