Hinge assembly Description Hinge assembly (includes 2 alignment posts, 2 cables, docking connector, and release latch) Spare part number 766610-001 Before removing the hinge assembly, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is off or in Hibernation, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the tablet by unplugging the power cord from the tablet. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the tablet. 4. Disconnect the tablet from the keyboard base. 5. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 64), and then remove the following components: a. Keyboard battery (see Keyboard battery on page 65) b. Keyboard plate (see Keyboard plate on page 67) c. Keyboard I/O board (see Keyboard base I/O board on page 73). Remove the hinge assembly: 1. Remove the six Philllips PM2.4×4.6 screws (1) that secure the hinge assembly to the top cover. 2. Remove the hinge assembly (2). Before removing the hinge assembly, follow these steps:
1.
Turn off the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is off or in Hibernation, turn the tablet on, and
then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the tablet by unplugging the power cord from the tablet.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the tablet.
4.
Disconnect the tablet from the keyboard base.
5.
Remove the bottom cover (see

), and then remove the following components:
a.
Keyboard battery (see

)
b.
Keyboard plate (see

)
c.
Keyboard I/O board (see

).
Remove the hinge assembly:
1.
Remove the six Philllips PM2.4×4.6 screws
(1)
that secure the hinge assembly to the top cover.
2.
Remove the hinge assembly
(2)

Reverse this procedure to install the hinge assembly.
