Device Types The all-open system disk array is configured with all SCSI ports. • Fibre Channel Fibre Channel connections are supported, using a direct connection or using HP Surestore SCSI Bridge FC bridges, hubs, and switches. • multiplatform The multiplatform disk array is configured with serial Enterprise System Connection (ESCON), SCSI ports (XP256 only), or Fibre Channel ports. The disk array supports two types of devices: • OPEN-K/3/8/9/E devices These OPEN-K/3/8/9/E devices are used exclusively by the open-system hosts. • LUSE devices The Logical Unit Size Expansion (LUSE) feature of the disk array enables you to configure custom-size logical units (LUNs), which are larger than standard OPEN-K/3/8/9/E LUNs. Device Types
