® Troubleshooting If a minor problem occurs, it usually can be solved quite easily when the cause is found by using the check list below. What's the problem? Cleaner won't turn on. What's the cause? Not firmly plugged in. No voltage in wall plug. What's the solution? Plug unit in firmly. Replace fuse or reset circuit. What's the problem? Agitator brush roll brushes aren't turning. What's the cause? Hard Surface mode selected on Surface Selector control dial. Agitator brush roll is obstructed. What's the problem? Cleaner won't pick up. What's the solution? Select a suitable carpet mode setting. Disconnect cleaner from electrical outlet. Turn cleaner over and remove any debris that has accumulated on the agitator brush roll. What's the cause? What's the solution? Filter bag full. Incorrect carpet height setting. Blockage in system. Change filter bag. Select another carpet height setting on the Surface Selector control dial. Clear blockage (see "Clearing blockages" section). What's the problem? Cleaner hard to push. What's the cause? Incorrect carpet height setting. What's the solution? Select a higher carpet height setting on the Surface Selector control dial. What's the problem? Cleaning tools won't pick up. What's the cause? What's the solution? Filter bag full. Blockage in system. Change filter bag. Clear blockage (see "Clearing blockages" section). What's the problem? Powered pet hair cleaning tool agitator brush roll won't turn. What's the cause? What's the solution? Too much pressure being applied to tool. Blockage in turbine channel. Broken or worn belt. Low cleaner suction. Continue using tool applying light pressure. Remove blockage. Replace belt. Refer to items under "Cleaner won't pick up". 19

Troubleshooting
Not firmly plugged in.
Plug unit in firmly.
