Function Code 2: Update Tape Drive Firmware from FMR Tape Attention: When updating drive firmware, do not power-off the 3580 Tape Drive until the update is complete or the firmware may be lost. Function Code 2 loads updated drive firmware from a field microcode replacement (FMR) tape. After the update is complete, activate the new firmware by turning the power off, then on again. 1. unloads the tape cartridge, exits maintenance mode, and displays the

To clear the error, turn the power off, then on again.
Function Code 2: Update Tape Drive Firmware from FMR Tape
Attention:
When updating drive firmware, do not power-off the 3580 Tape Drive
until the update is complete or the firmware may be lost.
Function Code 2 loads updated drive firmware from a field microcode replacement
(FMR) tape. After the update is complete, activate the new firmware by turning the
power off, then on again.
