Chapter 1. IBM NetVista computer overview Thank you for selecting an IBM NetVista computer. Your computer incorporates many of the latest advances in computer technology and can be upgraded as your needs change. This section provides an overview of the computer features, preinstalled software, and specifications. Identifying your computer The best way to identify your computer is by the machine type/model number. The machine type/model number indicates the various features of the computer, such as the type of microprocessor or the number of drive bays. You can find this number on the small label on the front of your computer. An example of a machine type/model number is 6568-110. This book is for all models. When it is necessary to distinguish between models you will see references to the model type. When the model is not specified, the information applies to all.
