DSC OPERATION 7 D Receiving a Distress Acknowledgement When a Distress Acknowledgement sent to another ship is received: ➥➥The emergency alarm sounds for 2 minutes. ➥➥"RCVD DISTRESS ACK" appears and the LCD backlight blinks. qqPush [ALARM OFF] to stop the alarm and the blinking backlight. • Even if you do not push [ALARM OFF], the alarm stops after 2 minutes, and then the screen in step w is displayed. wwPush a softkey to select your desired action. 1 [IGN] ➥ Push to return to the normal operating mode. 2 • The transceiver exits the DSC mode. • By pushing [PTT], the transceiver also exits the DSC mode. 3 • T he " " icon continues to blink and the Call is stored in the 4 Received Call Log. 5 6 7 8 [INFO] 9 ➥ Push to display the Received call information. And then, push [CH 16] to switch the operating channel 12 to Channel 16, and then monitor it, as a coast station 13 may require assistance. • If you haven't pushed [CH 16] within 10 seconds, the operat- 14 ing channel automatically switches to Channel 16.
