8 OTHER FUNCTIONS ■■Intercom operation The optional Intercom function allows you to talk between the deck and the cabin. The optional HM-195 commandmicIV™ is required for Intercom operation. Connect the HM-195 commandmicIV™ as described on page 107. • Transmitting is disabled while using the intercom. • The received signal is muted while using the intercom. q H old down [PWR](Dial) to turn ON the power. • T he command microphone power is automatically turned ON, even if the power is OFF. w P ush [MENU]. e R otate dial or push to select the "INCM," icon and then push the softkey below the icon. • INTERCOM screen is displayed. r H old down [INCM CALL] to sound the intercom beeps. • T he transceiver and the command microphone sound beeps while holding down [INCM CALL]. • "CALL" appears. 1 rrAfter releasing [INCM CALL], hold down [PTT] and speak 2 into the microphone at a normal voice level. 3 • "TALK" appears on the caller's display, or "LSTN" appears on the listener's display. 4 • T o adjust the transceiver's intercom volume level, rotate volume dial. 5 • T o adjust the HM-195's intercom volume level, rotate [VOL/SQL] 6 (Dial) on the HM-195. ttAfter releasing [PTT], you can hear the response through 7 the speaker. 8 9 On the caller's display 10 11 12 On the listener's display 13 14 15 yyTo return to the normal operating mode, push [EXIT]. 16 While in the Intercom mode, the transmit and receive functions are disabled. The optional Intercom function allows you to talk between the

• Transmitting is disabled while using the intercom.
• The received signal is muted while using the intercom.

Hold down [PWR](Dial) to turn ON the power.
• The command microphone power is automatically turned ON,
even if the power is OFF.
After releasing [INCM CALL], hold down [PTT] and speak

into the microphone at a normal voice level.
•“TALK” appears on the caller’s display, or “LSTN” appears on the
listener’s display.
To adjust the transceiver’s intercom volume level, rotate volume
dial

•To adjust the HM-195’s intercom volume level, rotate [VOL/SQL]
(Dial) on the HM-195.
After releasing [PTT], you can hear the response through

the speaker.

To return to the normal operating mode, push [EXIT].
While in the Intercom mode, the transmit and receive func-
tions are disabled. When the transceiver is transmitting,
the Intercom function is disabled.
