Chapter 1 Automatic Powerdown Saves Batteries The automatic powerdown features help extend battery life by turning off the LCD or camera power when the camera has been inactive (no buttons pushed and no pictures taken) for the given time period. Powerdown Feature Sleep Sleep, with QuickView on Deep Sleep Auto Off Activated Camera Behavior after 1 minute LCD is turned off 5 seconds To reactivate camera Press any button 8 minutes Most camera circuits off 3 hours All camera circuits off Turn the power switch off, then back on. Setting the Clock It is important to set the correct date and time if you want to imprint the date on your pictures (see page 21). 1 Turn on the camera and turn the Mode dial to Setup . 2 Highlight the Date/Time Set menu, then press the Select button. The date format is YYYY/MM/DD. The time is displayed in a 24-hour format. 3 Press the arrow buttons to move through the fields. Press the arrow buttons to adjust the date and time settings. 4 Press Select to accept the changes. This setting remains until you change it. NOTE: As a reminder to set the date and time, the Set Date & Time screen is automatically displayed the first time you turn on the camera. 6
