10. Lower the microprocessor retainer 3 and then secure the retainer with the lever 2 . Note: If you are replacing the system board, a black protective cover on the retainer protects the microprocessor socket. When you close the retainer, remove the cover. 11. Slide the heat sink 2 under the lip and into position on the microprocessor. Lower the lever 1 to secure the heat sink. Note: When you receive a new microprocessor, you will also receive a new heat sink. You must install a new heat sink when replacing the microprocessor. 12. then
secure
the
retainer
with
the
lever
±2²
.
Note:
If
you
are
replacing
the
system
board,
a
black
protective
cover
on
the
retainer
protects
the
microprocessor
socket.
When
you
close
the
retainer,
remove
the
cover.

Slide
the
heat
sink
±2²
under
the
lip
and
into
position
on
the
microprocessor.
Lower
the
lever
±1²
to
secure
the
heat
sink.
Note:
When
you
receive
a
new
microprocessor,
you
will
also
receive
a
new
heat
sink.
You
must
install
a
new
heat
sink
when
replacing
the
microprocessor.
