Solution (continued): For using Intel Matrix Storage Manager option ROM: 1. Replace the hard disk drive, and then turn on the computer. 2. During the startup, the state of the RAID volume is shown as ″Degraded,″ and a prompt to rebuild the volume is displayed on the screen. 3. Click Yes to select a new hard disk drive. 4. The state of the volume changes to ″Rebuild,″ and a message is displayed informing you that the volume will be rebuilt within the operating system. 5. Exit the utility, and start the operating system. The rebuilding starts. The Drive in use indicator will turn on. Depending on the size of your hard disk, the process might take more than two hours.
