Troubleshooting Cannot Access the NSS through FTP A Cannot Access the NSS through FTP Problem Scenario: Users attempt to log into the NSS through FTP but are unable to access their home directory or shares on the NSS. Resolution: There are several configuration settings that must be defined to enable FTP access. STEP 1 From the Manager Menu, click Shares FTP Setup. STEP 2 Ensure Enable FTP is selected. (You can go through the settings on this page to ensure they are correctly defined.) STEP 3 Close the FTP Setup page. STEP 4 From the Manager Menu, click Shares Shares. STEP 5 Click Edit for the applicable share. STEP 6 Make sure the FTP protocol is selected, and then click Update. STEP 7 From the Manager Menu, click Access Network. STEP 8 Make sure there are no filters set up to drop or reject FTP access for the applicable IP or MAC addresses. Cannot Rename a Folder through FTP Problem Scenario: Users attempt to log into the NSS through FTP but are unable to rename a folder. Resolution: Renaming of folders is not a supported FTP standard.
