Adding the NSS to your Network Configuring DNS or WINS for Name Resolution The Network Name Resolution page appears. 3 STEP 2 Based on your network setup, configure the following fields: • Search Domain: Enter the address of the DNS search domain accessible by the NSS. If you are joined to a domain, enter the controller name into this field. • Primary DNS Server: Enter the IP address of the primary DNS server on your network. If you are joined to a domain, enter the IP address into this field. • Alternate DNS Server: Enter the IP address of a second DNS server to be used should the primary DNS server become unavailable. This field is optional. • Assign automatically via DHCP: Select this to assign the IP address for the DNS server using the DHCP server. If the DHCP server cannot be found or times out, the DNS server IP address is assigned the IP address manually entered in the Primary or Alternate DNS Server fields. • Primary WINS server: If your network has a WINS server, enter its address. This field is optional. • Alternate WINS server: If your network has a secondary WINS server, enter its address. This field is optional. Based on your network setup, configure the following fields:
Search Domain
