What You Need before You Begin You need to prepare the following before you can set up your firewall: • Active Internet service provided by an ADSL account • The Internet Service Provider (ISP) configuration information for your ADSL account - ISP login name and password - ISP Domain Name Server (DNS) addresses - Fixed or static IP address - Host and domain names • Depending on how your ISP set up your Internet account, you need to know one or more of these settings: - Virtual path identifier (VPI) and Virtual channel identifier (VCI) parameters - Multiplexing method - Host and domain names • ASDL microfilters as explained in the Wireless-N ADSL2+ Modem Router DGN2000 Setup Manual In addition, your computer must be set up to use DHCP to get its TCP/IP configuration from the modem router. This is usually the case. For help with DHCP, see the documentation that came with your computer, or see the link to the online document that you can access from "Preparing Your Network" in Appendix B. Your ISP should have provided you with all the information needed to connect to the Internet. What You Need before You Begin
You need to prepare the following before you can set up your firewall:
Active Internet service provided by an ADSL account
The Internet Service Provider (ISP) configuration information for your ADSL account
ISP login name and password
ISP Domain Name Server (DNS) addresses
Fixed or static IP address
Host and domain names
Depending on how your ISP set up your Internet account, you need to know one or more of
these settings:
Virtual path identifier (VPI) and Virtual channel identifier (VCI) parameters
Multiplexing method
Host and domain names
