9. Voice mail++ Voice mail is a network feature that enables those who call you to leave a voice message. Note: You can use voice mail with either one or two phone lines. When you receive a voice message, your phone lets you know by beeping, displaying an icon on the screen, or showing a text message. The method of notification depends upon your carrier. If you receive more than one voice mail message, your phone may display the number of messages that you have received. If you have subscribed to 9 two different phone lines, the message would indicate the line to which the message was addressed. However, even though your phone notifies you of a message, the voice mail feature is independent of your phone's software. To use voice mail, you must have: • A voice mail subscription • A voice mailbox number • A temporary password These items are provided by your service provider. Your service provider should also tell you how to record a greeting for your voice mailbox and how to change the temporary password. After you obtain this information from your service provider, you must then save your voice mailbox number to your phone. Refer to "Save the voice mailbox number" on page 41. After you have saved your voice mailbox number, refer to "Listen to your voice messages" on page 41. Note: If you have difficulty using the voice mail feature, contact your service provider. [ 40 ]
