Flash Mode Selection 2 This section explains how to set the flash mode. 1 Set the mode dial to "P", "A" or "M". 2 Press the [ ] button. E 1 Every time the [ ] button is pressed, the flash mode changes as fol- lows. • When using the extension flash Auto flash Red-eye reducing Fill-in flash Taking Pictures NOTE • The auto-flash and red-eye reducing modes are disabled when the camera is in the "M" mode. • In the super macro mode, you can obtain fill-in flash by setting the flash in the pop-up position. However, note that the presence of the lens may produce a shadow in the picture or make correct brightness control impossible. Taking Flash-Lit Pictures 2 Pictures are taken with the built-in flash as follows. 1 Press the flash pop-up button. The flash will pop up. 1 2 Press the shutter release button down halfway. When flash fires, the orange lamp inside the viewfinder will light up. 3 Press the shutter release button down all the way. The flash will fire. • To shoot against the light, set the Autofocus mark on the subject.
