Turn wireless services

Page 16 highlights

Do one of the following: • Tap the upper-right corner of any screen to open the connection menu. Tap Turn on Airplane Mode. • Press and hold power and tap Airplane Mode. When your phone is in airplane mode, the airplane mode icon appears at the top of every screen, and Airplane Mode appears in the upper-left corner of the screen in the Launcher, Card view, and Phone. Your phone is not connected to any mobile network. Turn wireless services on When you turn on your phone, it automatically connects to your mobile network so that you can make and receive phone calls and use other wireless services (if supported by the local network). • If airplane mode is turned on, you need to turn it off before you can connect to your mobile network. Tap the upper-right corner of any screen to open the connection menu. Tap Turn off Airplane Mode. When your phone locates a signal, Verizon Wireless appears in the upper-left corner of the screen in the Launcher, Card view, and Phone, and the signal-strength icon appears at the top of the screen. * These indicate that wireless services are off (airplane mode). TIP When your phone is in airplane mode, you can turn the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth features on individually (see Turn Wi-Fi on and off and Turn the Bluetooth feature on/off). To turn your phone back on, you must turn airplane mode off. * These indicate that wireless services are on. When you are inside a phone coverage area, the bars on the signal-strength icon are filled in. Chapter 2 : Basics
Do one of the following:
Tap the upper-right corner of any screen to open the connection menu.
Tap
Turn on Airplane Mode.
Press and hold
power
and tap
Airplane Mode

When your phone is in airplane mode, the airplane mode
icon appears at
the top of every screen, and Airplane Mode appears in the upper-left corner
of the screen in the
Launcher
,
Card view
, and
Phone
. Your phone is not
connected to any mobile network.

These indicate that wireless services are off (airplane mode).
Turn wireless services on
When you turn on your phone, it automatically connects to your mobile
network so that you can make and receive phone calls and use other
wireless services (if supported by the local network).
If airplane mode is turned on, you need to turn it off before you can
connect to your mobile network. Tap the upper-right corner of any screen
to open the connection menu. Tap
Turn off Airplane Mode
