Basic The Backlight Compensation When there is a backlight, the subject appears darker and the camera will automatically attempt to correct it by increasing the brightness of the picture. In Intelligent Auto Mode, backlight compensation works automatically. The [ ] is displayed on the screen when backlighting is detected. (Depending on the backlighting conditions, backlighting may not be detected correctly.) Taking Pictures with Defocus Control Function You can easily set the blurriness of the background while checking the screen. 1 Press the rear dial to display [ ]. AUTO 2 Press 2/1 or rotate the rear dial to adjust. • Press [ ] to reset the setting to the default state (AUTO). • To adjust automatically, reset the setting to the default state (AUTO). 3 Press [MENU/SET] or the rear dial to set. - 37 -
