Incoming Messages Listening to recorded messages! When the unit has recorded new voice messages: -the AUTO ANSWER light will flash, -the call counter will show the total number of recorded messages, and -slow beeps will sound if the message alert feature is activated (feature #42 on page 65). Example: 02 Call counter Press PLAY MESSAGES . qOnly the new recorded messages will be played. qAdjust the speaker volume using or . qYou can also press AUTO ANSWER to play the new recorded messages when it flashes. qAfter playing back all of the new messages, the AUTO ANSWER light will stop flashing and just light up. If you press PLAY MESSAGES at this time, all the recorded messages will be played. Display FLASH/ LIGHT SLOW QUICK ERASE STOP SET PLAY MESSAGES JOG DIAL / Repeating a message Rotate JOG DIAL one click to the left while listening to the message. qIf you rotate JOG DIAL to the left within 5 seconds of the beginning of the message, the previous message will be played. qTo play back a specific message, rotate JOG DIAL to the left or right and search for the message you want to listen to. Skipping a message Rotate JOG DIAL one click to the right to play the next message. Stopping playback Press STOP . qIf you press PLAY MESSAGES within 1 minute, the unit will resume playing the rest of the messages. Voice time/day stamp During playback, a synthesized voice will announce the time and day of the week that each message was recorded. Changing the playback speed Press QUICK to play messages at one and a half times the original speed. Press SLOW to play messages at half the original speed. qTo return to the original speed, press QUICK or SLOW again during quick or slow playback. Erasing all of the recorded messages Check that you have listened to all of the recorded messages. 1. Press ERASE . Display: ALL MESSAGES 2. Press SET . PRESS SET ERASE MESSAGES? YES:SET/NO:STOP 3. Press SET . qTo erase a specific message, press ERASE while listening to the message you want to erase. 53
