Using Other Functions System Off The SYSTEM OFF feature allows you to tell the receiver and your other components to stop and turn off with the push of only one button on the remote control (this feature will only work with components that have a standby mode). For example, you can program the unit to stop your DVD, turn off your TV, turn off your DVD player and turn off the receiver itself. You don't need to program in other the power for PIONEER components, they will go off automatically in this mode. The receiver itself will go off automatically as well. The steps below show you how to program a string of up to 5 different SYSTEM OFF operations based on eight possible components. memo 6-2 2 Be sure to recall or teach the remote control commands for each component before attempting MULTI OPERATIONS (see "Setting Up the Remote Control to Control Other Components," page 5861). 1 Set the remote control slide switch to SETUP. Î S0URCE MULTI OPERATION USE SETUP SYSTEM OFF RECEIVER DVD/LD TV/SAT VCR1 VCR2 MULTI CONTROL CD MD/ TAPE1 TUNER TVCONT CLASS MPX BAND DIRECT ACCESS ¶ 7 38 - + TUNING - + STATION 1¡ DTV ON/OFF DTV MENU 4¢ - + CHANNEL 123 456 7 GUIDE +10 + TV VOL - 8 0 TV TV CONTROL TV FUNC 9 EXIT ENTER DISC + VOLUME - 1 Also make sure that your TV is on and set to the receiver. 3 4 6-1 2 Press the REMOTE SETUP (INPUT ATT) button and 3 at the same time to select the MULTI OPERATION SETUP mode. 2 The REMOTE SETUP menu appears on your TV screen. The MULTI CONTROL and the SYSTEM OFF buttons start to blink. To cancel MULTI OPERATION SETUP mode, press REMOTE SETUP. 5 3 Press the SYSTEM OFF button. The SYSTEM OFF button will blink. REMOTE SETUP INPUT ATT SYSTEM SETUP EFFECT/ CH SEL MENU + MUTE FUNCTION DIGITAL NR ENTER - SIGNAL SELECT MIDNIGHT LIGHT MULTI CH INPUT THX DSP /DTS ADVANCED STEREO/ DIRECT STANDARD 4 Press the MULTI CONTROL button for the component whose operation you want to start SYSTEM OFF with (for example, TV CONT button). The selected button will light steadily. AV PRE-PROGRAMMED AND LEARNING REMOTE CONTROL UNIT 5 Press the operation, for example TV (POWER), you want to input. 6 Repeat steps 3 and 4 to program a sequence of up to five stop or power off commands you want to input. You can repeat this process for up to five commands. For example : you could enter the following two operations using the proceeding steps 3 and 4. 1 Press TV CONT button & TV (POWER) to turn off your TV (as explained above). 2 Press DVD/LD then (POWER) to turn off your DVD player (if it is not a PIONEER product). When you employ SYSTEM OFF (see below), these two tasks will be performed in the same order. • To exit SYSTEM OFF SETUP mode, press REMOTE SETUP. • When you're done setting up, remember to set the slide switch back to USE. 73 OPERATION
