MULTI-ROOM set up Using Other Functions After you have completed the necessary connections for MULTI-ROOM operation you need to set up the receiver for such operation. Follow the instructions below. Also make sure that the TV is on and set to the receiver. 2 Press SYSTEM SETUP on the remote control. The REMOTE SETUP MENU appears on your TV screen. You can escape from this screen at any time by pressing SYSTEM SETUP again. AV PRE-PROGRAMMED AND LEARNING REMOTE CONTROL UNIT CAUTION! If the MULTI ROOM is set to FIXED the volume on the main unit will be set to maximum. Thus, when output, it will be extremely loud. Please set the master volume controls of the integrated amplifier in the sub room very low at first and experiment to find a suitable volume. 4 Select the VOLUME LEVEL by using the 2¥3 buttons. If you hook up a just a power amplifier in the sub room the receiver will act as a pre-amp. In this case choose VARIABLE for the VOLUME LEVEL setting. If you hook up a full integrated amplifier in the sub room (such as another Pioneer VSX receiver) choose FIXED for the VOLUME LEVEL setting. 5 Select the IR RECEIVER type with the 5¥∞ buttons and select the type by using the 2¥3 buttons. If you have the Pioneer-made MR-100 select PIONEER. If you have an IR RECEIVER from a different company, select OTHERS. memo Some IR RECEIVERS may not work with this system, check with a Pioneer representative to be sure. 6 Move to the EXIT setting and press ENTER to exit MULTI-ROOM set up and return to the SYSTEM SETUP MENU operations. You can leave the MULTI ROOM set up mode any time by pressing the SYSTEM SETUP button. • When you're done setting up, remember to set the slide switch back to USE. OPERATION 79

Using Other Functions
MULTI-ROOM set up
After you have completed the necessary connections for MULTI-ROOM operation you need to set up the
receiver for such operation. Follow the instructions below. The page after this one explains how to use the
MULTI-ROOM function once it's been set up.

Set the slide switch to SETUP.
Also make sure that the TV is on and set to the receiver.

Press SYSTEM SETUP on the remote
control.
The REMOTE SETUP MENU appears on your TV screen. You
can escape from this screen at any time by pressing SYSTEM
SETUP again.

If you have the Pioneer-made MR-100 select PIONEER. If you
have an IR RECEIVER from a different company, select
OTHERS.

Move to the EXIT setting and press ENTER
to exit MULTI-ROOM set up and return to
the SYSTEM SETUP MENU operations.
You can leave the MULTI ROOM set up mode any time by
pressing the SYSTEM SETUP button.
When you're done setting up, remember to set the slide
switch back to USE.

Some IR RECEIVERS may not work
with this system, check with a Pioneer
representative to be sure.
