Listening to your system 06 Selecting the multi-channel analog inputs If you have connected a decoder or a DVD player with multi-channel analog outputs to this receiver (page 18), you must select the analog multi-channel inputs for surround sound playback. STATION TUNING ADVANCED STEREO/ STANDARD SURROUND DIRECT SIGNAL MIDNIGHT/ SELECT LOUDNESS SPEAKERS SB CH MODE MULTI JOG TONE QUICK SETUP TUNER EDIT CLASS BAND LISTENING MODE MPX INPUT ATT FL DIMMER MCACC SETUP MIC DIGITAL IN VIDEO INPUT S-VIDEO VIDEO L AUDIO R MULTI JOG 1 Press DVD (DVD/LD on the front panel). 2 Press SIGNAL SELECT on the front panel repeatedly to select DVD 5.1ch. To cancel playback from the multi-channel inputs, use the SIGNAL SELECT button to select a different input signal. Using the sleep timer The sleep timer switches the receiver into standby after a specified amount of time so you can fall asleep without worrying about the receiver being left on all night. Use the remote control to set the sleep timer. MPX CHRETURN AUDIO SUBTITLE HDD DVD CH CH RECEIVER CONTROL STANDRAD ADV.SURR STEREO SLEEP MIDNIGHT/ LOUDNESS TESTTONE SHIFT CHSELECT LEVEL EFFECT RECEIVER • Press SLEEP repeatedly to set the sleep time. 90 min 60 min Off 30 min • When playback from the multi-channel inputs is selected, you can't use the INPUT ATT, TONE, and MIDNIGHT/ LOUDNESS buttons, as well as the STANDARD, ADVANCED SURROUND, and STEREO/DIRECT sound modes. • When playback from the multi-channel inputs is selected, only the volume and channel levels can be set. • You can check the remaining sleep time at any time by pressing SLEEP once. Pressing repeatedly will cycle through the sleep options again. • You can also switch off the sleep timer simply by switching off the receiver. 41 En
