HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER HOW TO USE THE MANUAL MODE IMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to warm to room temperature before turning on the power. If you do not do this, you may damage the console displays or other electrical components. 1. Insert the key into the console. See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER at the left. 2. Identify yourself as user 1 or user 2. Plug in the power cord (see page 15). Next, locate the power switch on the treadmill frame near the power cord. Make sure that the switch is in the reset position. Reset IMPORTANT: The console features a display demo mode, designed to be used if the treadmill is displayed in a store. If the displays light as soon as you plug in the power cord and press the power switch into the reset position, the demo mode is turned on. To turn off the demo mode, hold down the Stop button for a few seconds. If the displays remain lit, see THE INFORMATION MODE on page 27 to turn off the demo mode. Next, stand on the foot rails of the treadmill. Locate the clip attached to the key, and Clip slide the clip securely onto the waistband of Key your clothes. Then, in- sert the key into the console. After a moment, the displays will light. IM- PORTANT: In an emergency, the key can be pulled from the console, causing the walking belt to slow to a stop. Test the clip by carefully taking a few steps backward; if the key is not pulled from the console, adjust the position of the clip. The console can save settings for two different users. To identify yourself as user 1 or user 2, first press the User button; the words USER: 1 or USER: 2 will appear on the screen for a few seconds. Press the increase or decrease button beside the User button to change the user if desired. When you identify yourself as user 1 or user 2, any settings that you have previously set will automatically be selected. To change user settings, press the User button again while the words USER: 1 or USER: 2 appear; the words ODOMETER and TOTAL ODOMETER will appear on the screen for a few seconds. The top number is the number of miles or kilometers that the user has walked or run since the number was reset. To reset the number, press the decrease button beside the User button. The bottom number is the total number of miles or kilometers that the user has walked or run. This number cannot be reset. Press the User button again; the word WEIGHT and a weight setting will appear on the screen. To enter your weight, press the increase and decrease buttons beside the User button. After a few seconds, the screen will return to the manual mode. 3. Select the manual mode. Each time the key is inserted, the manual mode will be selected. If you have selected a program, remove the key and then reinsert it. 17

HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER
IMPORTANT: If the treadmill has been exposed to
cold temperatures, allow it to warm to room tem-
perature before turning on the power. If you do not
do this, you may damage the console displays or
other electrical components.
Plug in the power cord (see
page 15). Next, locate the
power switch on the tread-
mill frame near the power
cord. Make sure that the
switch is in the reset
position.
IMPORTANT: The console features a display demo
mode, designed to be used if the treadmill is dis-
played in a store. If the displays light as soon as
you plug in the power cord and press the power
switch into the reset position, the demo mode is
turned on. To turn off the demo mode, hold down
the Stop button for a few seconds. If the displays
remain lit, see THE INFORMATION MODE on page
27 to turn off the demo mode.
Next, stand on the foot
rails of the treadmill.
Locate the clip at-
tached to the key, and
slide the clip securely
onto the waistband of
your clothes. Then, in-
sert the key into the
console. After a moment, the displays will light.

HOW TO USE THE MANUAL MODE
1.
Insert the key into the console.
See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER at the left.

Identify yourself as user 1 or user 2.
The console can save settings for two different
users. To identify yourself as user 1 or user 2, first
press the User button; the words USER: 1 or
USER: 2 will appear on the screen for a few sec-
onds. Press the increase or decrease button be-
side the User button to change the user if desired.
When you identify yourself as user 1 or user 2, any
settings that you have previously set will automati-
cally be selected.
To change user settings, press the User button
again while the words USER: 1 or USER: 2 ap-
pear; the words ODOMETER and TOTAL
ODOMETER will appear on the screen for a few
seconds. The top number is the number of miles or
kilometers that the user has walked or run since
the number was reset. To reset the number, press
the decrease button beside the User button. The
bottom number is the total number of miles or kilo-
meters that the user has walked or run. This num-
ber cannot be reset.
Press the User button again; the word WEIGHT
and a weight setting will appear on the screen. To
enter your weight, press the increase and de-
crease buttons beside the User button. After a few
seconds, the screen will return to the manual
mode.
3.
Select the manual mode.
Each time the key is inserted, the manual mode
will be selected. If you have selected a program,
remove the key and then reinsert it.
