COPIER TROUBLE? Problem Copier does not operate. Copies are too dark or too light. Blank copies Copies smear if rubbed. q Copier plugged in? Solution Plug the copier into a grounded outlet. See page 8. q Power switch ON? Turn the power switch ON. See page 16. q Copy density properly adjusted? See pages 16 and 28. q Is the original placed face down on the original table or face up in the SPF? Place the original face down on the original table or face up in the SPF. q Paper too heavy? Use copy paper within the specified range. See page 58. q Paper damp? Replace with dry copy paper. Be sure to store copy paper in a dry location. See page 59. Striped copies q Is transfer charger clean? Clean the transfer charger. See page 55. q Non-standard paper used? Use standard paper. If using special paper, feed the paper through the bypass tray.
