Troubleshooting Problems and Solutions General problems Problem Solution Nothing appears in the display. • Make sure the power cord is properly plugged into a power outlet. • Connect another electrical appliance to the outlet to see if it has power. The machine does not respond when you press any of its keys. • If a beep sound is not made when you press the keys, unplug the power cord, wait at least 5 seconds, and then plug it in again. The paper plate is up, preventing paper from being loaded in the paper tray. • Remove any paper that remains in the paper tray and then replace and remove the output tray. This should cause the paper plate to go down and allow paper to be loaded. 143
