Troubleshooting Troubleshooting If you experience trouble with your camera, try the following solutions. Check the items on pages 127 to 136. Consult your Sony dealer or local authorized Sony service facility. Battery pack and power The battery pack cannot be installed. • As you insert the battery pack, use the tip of the battery pack to push the lock lever (t step 1 in "Read This First"). • Install the battery pack correctly (t step 1 in "Read This First"). The battery remaining indicator is incorrect, or sufficient battery remaining indicator is displayed but the power runs out too quickly. • This phenomenon occurs when you use the camera in an extremely hot or cold location (page 142). • The battery pack is discharged. Install the charged battery pack (t step 1 in "Read This First"). • The battery pack is dead (page 142). Replace it with new one. The battery pack runs down too quickly. • Charge it sufficiently (t step 1 in "Read This First"). • You are using the camera in an extremely cold location (page 142). • The battery terminal is dirty. Clean the battery terminal with a cotton swab, etc., and charge the battery pack. • The battery pack is dead (page 142). Replace it with new one. Cannot turn on the camera. • Install the battery pack correctly (t step 1 in "Read This First"). • The battery pack is discharged. Install charged battery pack (t step 1 in "Read This First"). • The battery pack is dead (page 142). Replace it with new one. The power turns off suddenly. • If you do not operate the camera for given period of time, the camera turns to power saving mode and nearly shuts down. To cancel the power save, operate the camera, such as pressing the shutter button halfway down (t step 3 in "Read This First"). • The battery pack is discharged.
