For details on the operation 1 page 80 Noise reductn Long exposure makes noise conspicuous. When the shutter speed is one second or slower, noise reduction is activated to reduce the grainy noise that is common in long exposures. On When a long exposure of one second or longer takes place, the noise reduction process is performed for the duration that the shutter was open. While the noise reduction is being performed, the message "Processing..." appears on the LCD monitor. You cannot take the next picture until the process is over. Off This mode does not perform noise reduction. This is suitable when timing of shooting takes precedence. However, this makes the noise more conspicuous. It is recommended that you activate the noise reduction if you use long exposure. • Noise reduction is not performed on continuous shooting or continuous bracketing regardless of this setting. Eye-Start AF The focus is confirmed when you look into the viewfinder, and the shutter speed and aperture are adjusted automatically. On Automatically adjusts the focus. • This mode uses up the battery charge faster than [Off]. Off Does not adjust the focus. Recording menu 85
