Watching the TV LAY RETURN Programming the Remote Control The remote control is preset to operate Sony brand video equipment. TV/VIDEO SLEEP POWER TV POWER BD/DVD DVR/VCR SAT/CABLE TV FUNCTION ENT JUMP ANT FREEZE MODE SURROUND SOUND PICTURE WIDE DISPLAY GUIDE TOOLS MENU PREV REPLAY ADVANCE NEXT PLAY VISUAL SEARCH PAUSE STOP VOL CH MUTING REC REC PAUSE REC STOP BD/DVD TOP MENU MENU F1 F2 Sony Equipment BD (Blu-ray Disc)/DVD DVR/VCR 1 SAT/CABLE Programmable Code Number 101 901 (Sony Dream System) 801 (Sony Satellite Receiver) Follow the steps below to program your TV's remote control to operate non- Sony video equipment. 2 Find the three-digit code for your equipment from the "Manufacturer's Codes" listed on page 42. If more than one code number is listed, try 3 entering from the code listed first. 1 Press and hold the , BD/DVD DVR/VCR or SAT/CABLE FUNCTION button you want to program on the remote control and press the DISP button simultaneously. The selected FUNCTION button (BD/DVR, VCR/DVD or 1 SAT/CABLE) will flash. 2 Enter the three-digit manufacturer's code number using the --9 buttons while FUNCTION button is lit. If the code is not entered within 10 seconds, you must start from step 1 again. 3 Press the button. When the programming is correct, the selected FUNCTION button flashes twice. When not correct, the button flashes five times. ✍ While , BD/DVD DVR/VCR and SAT/CABLE buttons are labeled as such, you can still program any of your connected equipment using any one of the buttons regardless of the label. For example, BD/DVD button can be programmed to operate your VCR. If you have a DVD/VCR combo that you want to operate with your TV remote control, you can program with the BD/DVD or DVR/VCR or even the , SAT/CABLE but remember which button you have programmed for your particular use. To check if the code works Aim your TV's remote control at the equipment, and press the green POWER button. If the equipment turns on and off, the programming is completed. If not, try the next code listed. ✍ If no code is input within the above specified time, or an invalid or incorrect code number is input, the remote control automatically goes back to the previous setting. TV ✍ In some cases, you may not be able to program your remote control to operate other equipment. In such cases, use the equipment's own remote control. 41
