Additional Information Troubleshooting If you have any problem while viewing your TV, please check the following troubleshooting guide. If the problem persists, contact your Sony dealer. Problem No picture No picture and no sound No sound Good picture but no sound Poor picture/sound Snowy picture and noisy sound Distorted picture and noisy sound Good picture but noisy sound Dotted lines or stripes Double images or "ghosts" Possible remedies • Check the AC cable, aerial and the VCR connections (pages 7 and 8). • Press TV I/1 on the remote (page 12). • Press I/1 on the TV to turn off the TV for about five seconds, then turn it on again (page 12). • Press 2 + to increase the volume level (page 13). • Press % to cancel the muting (page 13). • Check the aerial cable and connection on the TV, VCR and on the wall (page 7). • Check the aerial type (VHF/UHF). Contact a Sony dealer for advice. • Adjust the aerial direction. Contact a Sony dealer for advice. • Try using a booster, as signal transmission may be low. • Display the "SET-UP" menu and select "MANUAL SET-UP" to preset the channel again (page 22). • Turn off or disconnect the booster if it is in use, as broadcast signals may be too strong. • If the sound of all the channels are noisy, display the "SET-UP" menu and select "AUTO SET-UP" to preset the channels again (page 21). • If the sound of some channels is noisy, select the channel, then display the "SET-UP" menu and select the appropriate TV system ("SYSTEM") (page 22). • Do not use a hair dryer or other interference sources near the TV. • Adjust the aerial direction for minimum interference. Contact a Sony dealer for advice. • Use a highly directional aerial. • Adjust the aerial direction.
