3 Activate the Party Chain function on the system which you want it to be the Party Host. Press FUNCTION repeatedly to select the function (except AUDIO IN 1) you want, then start playback. Hold down MUSIC/PARTY CHAIN on the unit for 2 seconds. "PARTY CHAIN" appears in the display panel. The system starts the party as Party Host and other systems will become Party Guest automatically. All systems play the same music as the Party Host. Notes • Depending on the total unit of systems you have connected, Party Guest may take some time to start playing the music. • Changing the volume level and sound effect on the Party Host will not affect the output on the Party Guest. • The Party Guest continues playing the music source as Party Host even when you change the function on Party Guest. However, you can adjust the volume and change the sound effect on Party Guest. • (MHC-GPX888 only) When you use the microphone on Party Host, the sound will not be output from Party Guest. • The system which is not equipped with Party Chain function cannot become a Party Host. • When Party Chain function is activated while one of the system in the connection is performing USB transfer, the Party Chain function will not be activated on that system and the systems connected after it. Party Chain function will only be activated after that system completed or stopped the USB transfer. • For details on the operations of other systems, refer to the operating instructions of the systems. To select a new Party Host When you make connection A, you can select another system as the new Party Host. Repeat step 3 of "Enjoying the Party Chain" on the system which you want it to be a new Party Host. The current Party Host will become Party Guest automatically. All systems play the same music as the new Party Host. To deactivate the Party Chain On the Party Host, hold down MUSIC/ PARTY CHAIN on the unit for 2 seconds. Singing along (MHC-GPX888 only) You can sing along with any audio source that is playing on this system. 1 Turn MIC LEVEL to MIN to reduce the microphone volume level. 2 Connect a microphone to the MIC jack on the unit. 3 Start playing the music and adjusting the volume. 4 Turn MIC LEVEL to adjust the microphone volume. If acoustic feedback (howling) occurs, reduce the volume, move the microphone away from the speakers, or change the direction of the microphone. After you have finished, disconnect the microphone. Note The sound from the microphone will not be transferred to the USB device during USB transfer. 32GB

When you make connection

To deactivate the Party Chain
On the Party Host, hold down MUSIC/
PARTY CHAIN on the unit for 2 seconds.

reduce the microphone volume
