Precautions When carrying the unit Perform the following procedure to protect the disc mechanism. Use the buttons on the unit to perform this operation. 1 Press "/1 to turn on the system. 2 Press CD. 3 Remove the disc. Press Z OPEN/CLOSE to open and close the disc tray. Wait until "NO DISC" appears in the display panel. 4 Unplug the power cord. Notes on discs • Before playing, wipe the disc with a cleaning cloth from the center outward to the edge. • Do not clean discs with solvents, such as benzine, thinner, or commercially available cleaners or anti-static spray intended for vinyl LPs. • Do not expose discs to direct sunlight or heat sources such as hot air ducts, nor leave it in a car parked in direct sunlight. On safety • Completely disconnect the power cord (mains lead) from the wall outlet (mains) if it is not going to be used for an extended period of time. When unplugging the unit, always grip the plug. Never pull the cord itself. • Should any solid object or liquid get into the system, unplug the system, and have it checked by qualified personnel before operating it again. • (USA model only) One blade of the plug is wider than other for the purpose of safety and will fit to the wall outlet only one way. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet, contact your dealer.

Precautions
