flashing on the screen, and wait till it turns to [STBY]. • After you stop recording, your camcorder continues recording till it completes writing 0.5 seconds unit of data. • When you are recording with a slow frame rate, the camcorder may continue recording for a few more seconds after you press the START/STOP button to stop recording. • You cannot change the frame rate during Slow & Quick Motion recording. To change the frame rate, first stop Slow & Quick Motion recording. • The timecode is recorded in [REC RUN] mode (p. 131). • Slow & Quick Motion mode is automatically canceled when the camcorder is turned off, but the frame rate setting is retained. • You cannot record sound during Slow & Quick Motion recording. • You cannot simultaneously record to memory card A and memory card B. • The maximum continuous recording time in Slow & Quick Motion has the same limitations as for normal recording. The maximum continuous recording time will vary depending on the frame rate setting. • For details about Slow & Quick Motion limitations, see "Slow & Quick Motion and Super Slow Motion recording limitations" (p. 162). Slow-motion recording at high frame rate (HFR) You can record at high frame rate when the file format is XAVC HD. Preparation The playback speed is determined by the recording format. 1 Press the MENU button, and select (CAMERA SET) t [SLOW & QUICK] t [S&Q MOTION] t [HIGH FRAME RATE] t [ON]. 2 Select [REC FORMAT]. 3 Select a recording format. In this state, starting to record in Slow & Quick Motion will record at high frame rate. The frame rate is fixed to the following value. When [60i] is selected: 120 When [50i] is selected: 100 For details about shooting, see "To record with the Slow & Quick Motion function" (p. 60). b Notes • The camcorder may continue recording for a few more seconds after you press the START/ STOP button to stop recording. • The timecode is recorded in [REC RUN] mode. z Tip • The [HIGH FRAME RATE] ON/OFF setting cannot be switched using the ASSIGN1/S&Q button. Recording with the Super Slow Motion function By recording with a frame rate that is higher than the playback frame rate, you can record images to be played back as slow motion images. The images recorded with the Super Slow Motion function will appear smoother than slow playback of images recorded at normal speed. Preparation You must set the recording format and frame rate. The playback speed is determined by the combination. You also must set the record timing. 1 Press the MENU button, and select (CAMERA SET) t [SLOW & QUICK] t [SUPER SLOW MOTION]. 2 Select [REC FORMAT], and select the recording format.
