On this page, you can configure the notification function of SNMP. Choose the menu SNMP→Notification→Notification Config to load the following page. Figure 14-8 Notification Config The following entries are displayed on this screen: Host Config IP Address: User: Security Model: Type: Retry: Timeout: UDP Port: IP Mode: Security Level: Enter the IP Address of the management Host. Enter the User name of the management station. Select the Security Model of the management station. Select the type for the notifications. Trap: Indicates traps are sent. Inform: Indicates informs are sent. The Inform type has a higher security than the Trap type. Specify the amount of times the switch resends an inform request. The switch will resend the inform request if it doesn't get the response from the management station during the Timeout interval, and it will terminate resending the inform request if the resending times reach the specified Retry times. Specify the maximum time for the switch to wait for the response from the management station before resending a request. Enter the number of the UDP port used to send notifications. The UDP port functions with the IP address for the notification sending. The default is 162. Select the IP mode of the IP address. Select the Security Model of the management station. Notification Table Select: Select the desired entry to delete the corresponding management station. IP Address: Displays the IP Address of the management host. IP Mode: Displays the IP mode of the IP address. UDP Port: Displays the UDP port used to send notifications. 229
