Figure 8-6 Seating the memory module CAUTIONS: 1. Be careful not to drop the screw inside the computer. 2. Do not touch the connectors on the memory module or on the computer. Debris on the connectors may cause memory access problems. 6. Seat the memory module cover and secure it with one screw. 7. Install the battery pack. Refer to Replacing the battery pack section in Chapter 6, Power, for details. 8. Turn the power on and make sure the added memory is recognized. Open System Properties in the Control Panel and click the General tab. Removing memory module To remove the memory module, make sure the computer is in boot mode then: 1. Turn off the power and disconnect all cables from the computer. 2. Turn the computer upside down and remove the battery. 3. Loosen one screw securing the memory module cover and lift off the cover. Refer to figure 8-5. 4. Push the latches to the outside to release the module. A spring will force one end of the module up. 8-8

CAUTIONS:
1.
